At Activity Care North-west Ltd, we provide specialist residential care for young people aged 8 to 18 who have experienced challenging circumstances, trauma, or breakdowns in previous placements. Our approach is rooted in empathy, structure, and an unwavering belief in each young person’s potential.
Individualised Care Plans
We recognise that no two young people are the same. Every child who joins us receives a bespoke care plan shaped around their emotional, behavioural, psychological, and developmental needs. These plans are created in collaboration with social workers, therapists, and (where appropriate) family members to ensure a truly holistic approach.
Emotional & Psychological Support
Supporting mental health is central to our work. Many of the young people we care for carry the weight of past trauma. We provide access to qualified therapists and counsellors, and our staff are trained in trauma-informed care to offer daily emotional support. Our goal is to help each young person understand and manage their emotions in a safe, judgement-free environment.
A Safe, Stable Home Environment
Each of our homes is warm, welcoming, and purposefully structured to meet the needs of young people. We foster an atmosphere of respect, calm, and consistency, providing clear boundaries alongside meaningful relationships. Routines are designed to create a sense of security, while still allowing room for independence and personal growth.
Education, Life Skills & Independence
While we are not a school, we strongly support young people in continuing their education and developing practical life skills. From helping with homework to teaching basic cooking, budgeting, and daily routines, we prepare each individual for life beyond residential care. Where needed, we work closely with local schools, tutors, and education providers to ensure educational continuity.
Family & Community Engagement
We value the importance of healthy relationships and encourage contact with family, where appropriate. We also support young people in building confidence and social development.
Working With Local Authorities
We work directly with social services, local authorities, and case managers to ensure transparency, accountability, and the best outcomes for every placement. We’re committed to strong communication, accurate reporting, and a fully collaborative approach to care.
